The New Yorker Today app is the best way to stay on top of news and culture every day, and the magazine each week. Features: • Get a daily blend of in-depth reporting, political commentary, cultural criticism, and humor from the Web site. • Read each week’s magazine and browse past issues. • Receive alerts on breaking-news coverage by your favorite New Yorker writers. • Listen to narrated New Yorker stories and podcasts. • Flip through a nearly endless supply of New Yorker cartoons using the Cartoon Randomizer tab. • Read articles off-line and save stories to finish later, on any device. • Access The New Yorker Sticker Pack. Download the app, add the extension to iMessage, and liven up your texts with Christoph Niemann’s signature drawings and animations of city life. The app is free to download. Subscribers receive unlimited access. Non-subscribers may access a limited number of articles each month. Most current New Yorker subscribers have unlimited access to the app as part of their existing subscription. Subscribers with a print-only subscription may not have unlimited access. Users who have trouble accessing unlimited stories, or who wish to upgrade their access level may call Customer Service at 1-800-967-2082. All users have unlimited access to the Cartoon Randomizer, which does not count toward the article limit for non-subscribers. All users have unlimited access to the Sticker Pack, which is free to download and requires iOS 10 or above. A subscription costs $8.99 a month or $89.99 annually, and includes a 30-day free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user’s account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. The New Yorker Today app requires iOS 11 or above. • Great content, app stands above most

    By zylvere
Six-star New Yorker content with an ever-improving app. Too frequently, however, the article reading experience is inconsistent as some articles pop you over to Safari or a web view. Also, it seems like I have to log in again every day or so.
  • Absolutely horrendous app and website

    By M2B2C2
Constantly kicks me off. Difficult to get technical support. Multiple problems yet they keep charging me monthly. I understand that the full time writers here, who are excellent, don’t even get health insurance for their hard work! Instead the company relies on their willingness to work this way because of the magazine’s sterling reputation. But any company can only do this for so long. And exploitation is exploitation whether it’s of the writers or the readers. I have been reading the Atlantic a lot more for the past year. A lot more.
  • Would be five if the search worked

The app will not save the article you’re reading or crossword you’re working on if you are viewing it from the search window. It’s very frustrating, especially when you just want to take a quick break.
  • Love it But Can’t Always Get On

This a great app with excellent articles. I don’t understand why sometimes I click on it and am allowed to read everything on it, but other times it says I have to subscribe. I am a longtime subscriber to the print version, which I still get every week.
  • Dark Mode Please!

    By DavePBass
I absolutely love this app it’s far and away my most used reading app. Please add a dark mode! Preferably a nice dark grey if we’re being picky here. Great work! Love the new audio features.
  • Better now that the audio player is updated

    By tonesims
Love the New Yorker and consistently read it. With my commute it was nice to listen to the articles but the app was super buggy for me and had zero customization for listening. I decided to get an Audm subscription since it includes other magazines and, more importantly, better audio controls/interface. But now the Audm app isn’t necessary for the New Yorker. The new update is much easier to use, less buggy, and has its own pop-out interface. Two things would make it even better: 1.25x speed and an updated pop-player for older issues.
  • Not happy.

Automatically charged my account $119. Without my knowledge. They make it impossible to contact them for cancellation & refund. Their app is unresponsive & their is no cancel option. No phone #. Not user friendly!
  • Disappointed

    By ahmad3026
I’m surprised that the app literally do not have a reader mode and especially dark mode. You just have to rely upon default font, colour and background. Sad. Also, like browser, this app do not have the facility where if you tap on writer’s name, all his/her appear opens in a new page. This app sadly lacks this feature and I can’t find the work of specific writer inside the app beside one or two pieces. Disappointing.
  • Excellent, in depth and varied articles.....

I am in Medellin, Colombia and have had no connectivity issues that weren’t on my end. The content is first rate and worth the subscription rate.... Hopefully the “Subscriber Services Department” isn’t scrutinizing these reviews because, in all honesty, I would pay more for what I am receiving than I do now.....Jed
  • Great content. App refreshes are a pain

    By Agdgdhbdhxbdb
I like the update and how Audm is presented, but when you pause the reading, the app sometimes refreshes. The Audm reading started at the beginning. Note I have a choice to relisten to the part I’ve already heard, or just move on. App refreshes have long been a problem with this app. What do I mean by that? Stop reading an article and lock your phone. Now unlock it. Hmm, the app isn’t even showing. Now go to the app. Hold on, now you have to wait for the app to reload. Sometimes it comes back to where you left off, sometimes at the beginning of the piece, and sometimes back to the list of articles. I can’t figure out why they would design it this way, but it sure takes away from the enjoyment of The New Yorker.
