  • $$$All about the money$$$

If you have 1000’s of dollars to spend this is the game for you. Totally spend to win. They have recently changed the game to support only the big spenders. Average players simply cannot compete and will be totally wiped out if you attempt to compete. You must spend money for protection or you lose your entire investment. Stay away! Danger!

The game is operated by thieves and liars (I have proof of both of these claims). They do not care about their paying customers at all. They introduce new items for the big spenders to buy every 3 weeks, at which point the older items become obsolete. If you start playing the game, within 3 months you will be facing players that have 2 years experience who will kill all your troops and take all your resources with almost no losses. The game used to be good but then they got greedy. There is no real strategy involved. Spend more money than your opponent and you win, even if you don’t understand the game or troop formations. They have completely changed the battle mechanics so that the castle you have spent a year or more building can be wiped out in one hit by someone who is in theory weaker. You can report bugs and there are plenty to report, but they don’t bother fixing them or even trying to understand them, they just tell you to restart or reinstall the app. Customer support only ever send copy and pasted responses. I’m not complaining because I was zeroed by another player, I still have my troops, but the app is a disgrace. Most players are only playing for the chat with friends in the game. The developers response is typically apathetic. It is yet another pointless copy and pasted message. It doesn’t challenge my opening statement - that they are liars and guilty of fraud. The new feature added yet another case of advertising fraud. Developers I dare you to engage in a conversation with me about the crimes that I have accused you of. You are thieves and liars. I can prove my claims. Update. Still no genuine engagement from the developers or customer disservice. They are liars and thieves. Almost every response is a copy and paste. They do not care that they have defrauded their customers. Most of the positive reviews are fake. As you will see, the developers response below has absolutely nothing to do with the content of the review. I accused you of a serious crime. You respond with a canned response. It just shows how inept and incompetent your customer support team is. Copying and pasting something irrelevant is useless, but is all that they appear to be capable of doing.

  • Is it for you?

If you like to spend a LOT of time playing games, this game may be for you. There are MANY twists and parts to this game to figure out. If you like to spend a LOT of money to advance to different levels in a game then this game is DEFINITELY for you. If you like to play a game without much understandable information on the ‘Help’ or ‘FAQ’ sections or from the ‘Moderators’ or designers of the game, this game is for you. Personally, I’ve played the game for nearly 3 years and I’m done spending money and being frustrated. I hope you enjoy the game.
  • You don’t have to spend to play

    By Cire 702
Yes there lots of opportunities to buy things in the game. You don’t have to buy things to enjoy yourself. Without spending you won’t be a monster player. You’ll have to learn how to protect yourself (which isn’t hard) from the big bullies. Initially you need to get on and grow but once you’re bigger you can go longer and longer. Join an alliance. Have fun inexpensively. I’ve played over a year and only accidentally spent 4.99. After being on nearly 3 years. It’s fun. Be careful because you can spend a lot of time but fortunately you don’t have to spend a lot of $$.

This game used to require strategy and promote team work. Simply it has now become a game for big spenders. New equipment is released almost monthly, so if you are not willing to spend, you are too far behind to grow. Also if you are willing to spend, the analytics on the game are set against you. The more you spend, the harder your competition, promoting more spending. It is an endless circle, with multiple bugs and terrible customer service.
  • Definitely pay to play

You can get decent power by being smart and taking advantage of the game events. But if you want to be even moderately strong, you need to shell out significant cash. Everything the developers do is a money grab - continuous rolling out of new items that you need to purchase to be a strong player. Multiple events occur at one time, again all designed to get you to buy. Bugs are rampant, and can end up getting all your troops killed at the very beginning of an event of some people can log on but others can’t. GoG “Help” usually takes forever to respond and actually is helpful about half the time. All in all, I suggest finding another game by a different developer before you find yourself (like me) stuck playing this because of the time and money you put into it.

Edit 08-06-20 3 years, thousands of dollars and countless hours of work to become a top player in my kingdom, gog has finally broke me with the guard update. Theyve turned the game into Russian roulette, where a single march can now wipe out millions of troops in 1 hit. Have canceled subs, killed my farms and now barely log in to just check on peeps. And since the same is happening to them I suspect I’ll be deleting the game shortly. Just another dead castle in another dead kingdom. RIP too greedy. Have spent thousands on this game and really didn’t have a problem with it but lately its just gotten ridiculous. Gear that just came out and people have paid a fortune for is now being given away for free, most likely so they can release new gear. constant updates with new stuff to buy, before youve even managed to upgrade the stuff you just bought from the last update. Refusal to update basic parts of the game, event after event, poor customer service. If id only known then what i know now.

If your thinking of playing this game for the first time, don’t do it! I’ve been playing for 2 years now and while most of my gaming experience has been fun, when their are issues with events (I’ve had 2 now), they’re customer support is very dismissive. In fact, they will make you feel YOU are wrong. It becomes a challenge for the next issue to ensure you screen shot and record as much as you can. As a veteran player with a strong understanding of the game AND the fact I can read rules, I know when they’re wrong, yet, got to give them credit, they will stick to their “guns” and maintain their innocence. I’m fairly vested in this game at this point. But if your thinking of trying it out, DO NOT COUNT ON GOG to support you!
