  • Terrible App

The ONLY reason I will continue to pay for this apps subscription is bc of Guys we F*****. If they did not have them there is NO WAY I would pay 7.99 a month for this app. The app can’t even hold the spot that you left off in a podcast when you return to it. Additionally, often when I will click one podcast, another will play. I’ve been using this app since it came out and have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt because it’s fairly new, but it’s been too long to still have these basic problems.
  • Subpar app for paid svc

I would gladly continue paying for luminary premium content if the app was better. But I cannot deal with the slowness of loading and the crashing anymore. You should be able to do a better job with the app with the funding you get from subscribers. It’s just not up to par right now.
  • App ruins experience- and - they are clearly not interested

I originally signed up to hear the Axe Files when it went behind this pay wall but quickly found that the app made it impossible to play episodes - or anything else - without a convoluted interface and so cancelled. Fast forward a number of months and took advantage of their end of year offer, imagining that they had to have fixed the app by then. Nope. Still virtually impossible to play multiple episodes of a podcast and the podcast listings are very difficult to navigate... Who could have thought up this design - did the leaders not even try their app? Truth is there is likely some good content... but who can find it? Also the list price is double its value - price should be their year-end offer. Addition - everyone gets the same canned response to reviews - clearly they dont read/are not interested in the overwhelmingly lousy reviews they get. They also hide any contact info, leadership info, etc.
  • I love this app

It has almost everything I want to listen to, it’s almost entirely free, the 15 second rewind and 30 second forward jump are insanely helpful, and I love how easy it is to explore, download, listen to, and save my podcasts.
  • To expensive and full of bugs

I’d love to be a luminary member but it’s waaaaay to expensive for a monthly subscription. It seems even more expensive when you see how shoddy the app is. It bums me out. I’d love to listen to Rainn Wilson and Russell Brands podcasts.
  • Great content, just buggy enough to warrant complaints

The app doesn’t save where I am in the podcasts every once in a while which really hinders mid-traffic listening. I love the content but if the app isn’t going to do the basic things a podcast app should do then I may move to a more generic app.
  • Tough to use

For some reason the app is unable to remember where you were if you happen to pause the episode.
  • Crashes constantly

In listening to a 30-minute podcast, the app crashes on average of 4 times. Tried it out just to hear this season of Spooked, but the UX of the app is so lousy that I’m deleting it as soon as the season ends.
  • Decent podcasts, poorly executed app

I downloaded this app specifically to listen to Hear to Slay and Spooked. Both are excellent podcasts and I’m happy to pay the subscription to listen to them. However, the app is so poorly made that it’s difficult to navigate and playback rarely works. For instance, this morning I had to force close the app 3 times to get an episode to play. I’m cancelling my subscription, but because of the podcasts, but because of the issues that cannot seem to be resolved in the app.

I got this app for a specific podcast and they subscription system is hard to navigate and the app is very glitchy. I was unable to access my account and still charged. I cancelled my subscription and have still been charged. Very frustrating because my favorite podcast moved exclusively to this app. This is an edit to my original one star review based on the excellent customer service! I probably won’t re-download the app, because I’ve had issues for a while. But it’s still nice how quickly they helped me and refunded for my issues.
