Description

Google Authenticator works with 2-Step Verification for your Google Account to provide an additional layer of security when signing in. Features include: - Automatic setup via QR code - Support for multiple accounts - Support for time-based and counter-based code generation To use Google Authenticator, you need to enable 2-Step Verification on your Google Account. Got new phone and won’t authenticate for any accounts. Not sure how to manage this ?!
  • Security so good, even you can’t sign into your own account

Security features should allow you to protect your account while still allowing you the ability to access it. It’s pointless if the security feature prohibits even you from signing into your own account. I set up the authenticator last year and it seemed to work well at first. That is until this year when I had to update account info for my health benefits. Same phone, same app but yet it keeps saying wrong 2-step verification code. I tried uninstalling and redownloading the app, and re-set up my phone and it still doesn’t work.

Worked on the first try. I’m giving this 5 stars until it starts messing up.

This app worked for a good while for my iPhone then suddenly it’s just don’t want to cooperate, I recommend don’t adding google Authenticator to your accounts such as Discord.

This app is just a pain. I have all my accounts set up with Duo 2FA except Google decided it needs its own app, because apparently it doesn’t have enough products already. One annoyance is that the code regenerates every thirty seconds or so, but not based off when you open the app. Often I’ll pull the code up and have to wait for a new code to be generated so the current one doesn’t expire before I can submit it.
  • Can’t install and set up

So I installed this and followed the directions to set it up, but my email doesn’t think there’s an authentication app installed. The app itself thought everything was fine. So I uninstalled the app to remove the app’s data and get it matching my email login data and try again. I can’t re-install the app. It doesn’t say either “install” or have a cloud symbol. It says “Purchased” on a greyed out (unusable) button. Which I have never seen previously. Generally I suppose this would be good, since no one could duplicate your information. However since I did delete the app and all the data and cannot re-install, something is wrong. Very wrong. And possibly insecure.
  • It’s ok.

I’ll give it a 5 stars because it gets the job done at least. Keeps passwords even if you don’t need it, whatever that’s fine. But the app (In my opinion) isn’t the “most ideal” authenticator to use.

Google Authenticator worked fine until I upgraded my phone. When I reinstalled all my apps all my other data was fine but not my Authenticator. All me logins completely cleaned out. Now I can’t access my things like my stocks without hours of emails back and forth verifying my identity. Would have been nice to know this ahead or time.
