Makes your life worse. I might need to leave google forever. Totally locked the whole family out after a software update. Authenticator provides bogus codes then blocks you out.

Switched phones, app reset, I am now locked out of my Nintendo account. My other 2FA app worked just fine. If possible, avoid.

It’s actually not a bad app. I just downloaded it, and it’s not as bad as the reviews say. You don’t need a phone number, which is convenient. I like the app.
  • Good for one phone

I liked the app fine until I upgraded my phone from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 11. When I started the app after the upgrade the app acted like brand new, but my accounts still wanted to authenticate under the old keys. While I eventually got in, nothing I could do could delete the new keys or give me a clean slate. I had to turn off two-factor authentication and give up on this Google tool.

It’s a good app it could be better but that’s getting into the nitty gritty stuff. Most of the one star reviews say it’s a bad app and it doesn’t work but that’s not really true they just don’t know how to use it or they complain about not having a specific feature. I’m giving it four stars instead of five because It could have more features yes but it also does just what I need it to do.
  • Locked out of my accounts.

Never use this app, because if somewhere happens and you can’t access Google authenticator, you will be locked out of your accounts forever. For me, I got a new phone and the codes never transferred to my new phone and we’re wiped on the old phone. So now I’m locked out everything and trying to contact the apps I’m locked out of. Instagram for example, doesn’t reply. So I’m locked out of Instagram permanently. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT download this app!

Completely unfriendly user experience. Unresponsive key entry and account allocation. Spent 30-40 minutes trying to get into my ubisoft account that absolutely required me to use google Authenticator. Changed my phone and reinstalled the app and it wouldn’t allow me to readd my account even though I’m using both the same SIM card and phone number. Still cannot get into my account with google Authenticator and had to use my original email to authenticate. My experience with this app was utterly terrible.
