Description

Make free calls with a real U.S.phone number on the original free calling and texting app. Pinger comes preloaded with free calling minutes that can be used to call anyone in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico. After that, minutes are free to earn or cheap to purchase. SMS messages are also free. On top of free calling and SMS, additional features include voicemail, group chat, MMS picture & video messaging, emoji, ringtones, and more. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING“It’s like having a real phone number from the carrier. Except FREE.” –Nick “I started using this app back in 2007 on my iPod touch 3rd generation... Works every time, voice calls are clear, and no one knows it’s an app and not an actual phone. Highly recommended.” –Scott “I have used this app as my main phone number for years. It is just as reliable as an actual phone number.” –Kay “I’ve tried several, but hands down, Pinger is by far the best. Why? Simple: It works. Period.” –Tuc “I would rate this like 100,000,000 stars but can’t :/ only 5.” –Molly “Great to have a backup number especially when you travel abroad.” –Milo TERMS Subscriptions automatically billed monthly or annually to your iTunes Account and auto-renew, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. • Tacky Ad Situation 👎

5/27/20: My sincere thanks for responding to my review! Still, your statement was partly generic. At no time did I say anything about “wanting your ads to disappear.” The problem that I was reporting was the *obstructive positioning* of your ads and the *nature of their content* (for more than a week the same dating fetish ads from one particular company popped up continuously on my screen, to the exclusion of all other ads). Thankfully, the fetish ads appear to be gone now, after a recent update. However, another ad issue persists: after reading a single txt message (and now sometimes before even reading one) a full page ad pops up and takes over the entire screen. This only makes me want to ignore it altogether. So I close the app without reading the content. Update: I checked several times and the ad that blocks out the entire screen most often is one that reads: “Who Are They Messaging?” However, the bottom line is that there really are any number of other ads that pop up and do the very same thing, and the situation has gotten noticeably worse since these types of obstructive pop-ups started. This type of gimmick does not inspire goodwill towards your advertisers, that’s for sure, and constitutes a serious decline in the functionality and quality of the app itself. ——————————- I used to like this app a lot but the recent setup causing an ad to pop up and fill the page immediately after every txt I read or send is excessive and unwelcome. I am also surprised and turned off by the constant presence of ads for what seems like fetish “dating” apps. I can’t see any reason why I should be receiving ads like that on my phone and it makes me want to use this app less - or even rethink using it entirely.

Now full screen ads appear when I go back to my contacts list. An extra annoyance that makes me like this app a lot less.

Was very happy with the app until this new ad wall that comes after sending a message. Very annoying just to get someone to pay for a service that has been free for years without major problems now you get an ad wall. Shame on you.

I can always rely on using pinger if my phone is messing up, I’ll go to the app watch a few ads to get free minutes (30 seconds of ads is 1 minute of call time) then I can use any number I want to contact people any time. I highly recommend using this app.

Your text free no longer works on my iPad. I tried to text you guys about it weeks ago that it opens and shuts down before I can even use it. Even put it on my phone and still doesn't work. It used to work for years but not now. Thinking about taking it off and in the trash it goes if you ppl can't even text back.
