I decided to dabble in watercolor painting and heard about Skillshare. There are tons of classes to choose from and I’m really enjoying learning at my own pace. This is a very convenient way to “take classes.”
  • I love it but don’t go for 2 months free trial.

I download this app for 2 months free trial.During that I really enjoyed and love it until I noticed it took my money during that 2 months free trial. They tooked $98.00 out of it. I have requested a refund and still no answer. There’s no phone number to contact nor address. This just a bad service to deal with 😤

I love the opportunity here at Skillshare to learn from other artists and professions on my own schedule. It has helped me learn about technology, art mediums, time management, etc. I only wish I had more time in this life to watch and try more things!
  • Be aware you’re signing up for a $141 bill

To be honest, I didn’t know I’d signed up for this until I saw the bill (and the overdraft fees) from the bank. I downloaded a couple education apps, this one didn’t even fully download, partly from lack of space on my phone, partly because I was traveling for work. Deleted the queued download, moved on with my life... until I came home to a $-300 status on my account, because of overdraft fee on top of overdraft fee. You can’t cancel your subscription through Apple’s subscription services. You can’t unsubscribe through their app. Save yourself the bill. Use Google and YouTube. Both are free.
  • Reviewing App not Platform

I love Skillshare and I have no issues at all with the Skillshare platform. The only issue I have with the app is that I cannot look at or download the class materials on the app or upload my work from the app. This is particularly annoying when the only method I have for photographing my art is my phone or my iPad and I feel like it would be more usable if I could upload directly from that device via the app versus having to email myself the photo and upload it from my computer. This is particularly painful for me because I have satellite Internet on my computer where is on my phone I have unlimited data. Perhaps I have the opposite problem of most people but I live in the wilds of Maine and there is no broadband. Otherwise the app is very convenient and I quite enjoy just watching the classes but I’m waiting in the car somewhere and can’t even do the projects. It’s a good practice to watch the prep classes before you start the project anyway. Great app and I hope that they will consider allowing uploads and downloads within the app.

I’ve tried some other learning apps and there always seems to be something missing. Some are just poorly designed, others have substandard instructors or some other malfunction. I will admit though, that I haven’t tried them all and there are some good ones too. One that that comes to my mind, gives lectures on topics like history, philosophy, physics and stuff like that. But when it comes to learning skills, i have to say that Skillshare is absolutely the best. It easy to navigate and find classes on topics you want to learn. The instructors that I’ve seen here are very good and clear and you get a lot of information without a bunch of yapping involved, so you can learn any skill very fast. After watching classes here, I get a sense of satisfaction, because I feel I’ve acquired practical knowledge and application, instead of feeling hanging in an overload of fractured information. Skillshare has a monthly subscription, which is very moderately priced. For me, if there ever was a reason and justification to subscribe to anything, it would definitely be with Skillshare. I absolutely recommend it.
