I like this app. Overall its accurate. Every once in a while, it mis-identifies a ligit number as spam. I just added my phone # to the app to see if that helps Hiya flag more scam callers using my local exchange.
  • Getting worse over time

Hiya used to be able to correctly identify almost every number that came in and seemed to block every spam call. Lately it’s identifying around 20% of them which is unfortunate.
  • Just Ok at best

I downloaded this and thought I would give it a try. Easy to use however the caller ID always says domestic caller and nothing more so pretty much useless. It doesn’t show if it is blocking any numbers or what it has blocked so you have no idea if it is even working. I was getting 3-4 calls a day and not one of them were blocked and all were scam car warranty calls.

Why do you show calls from the Republican Party as “potential scam” calls? Do you show calls from the Democratic Party as “potential scam” calls?

Strangely my IPhone with settings set to silence unknown callers seems to block more calls then Hiya at max settings

I’ve had the premium version for more than a year. Originally, Hiya provided good reliable filtering. Not Hiya only displays “Potential Spam” and when accessing the Hiya database, only display “Domestic Line.” Today a potential spam call came in, and displayed this call originated in Switzerland. When I went to Hiya database, it displayed a domestic line. Give me the original service back that displays us useful information.
  • Premium does not eliminate all spam calls

I have been using the app for some time. I would get numerous calls of many types (spam, telemarketing, phishing etc). I decided to purchase the premium protection to eliminate these calls. However, I still get calls flagged as spam and telemarketer, even though I have set the program to block them. Will not be renewing the premium protection next year.
  • Very Frustrating

Hiya, I believe is a decent app to have but, I purchased the premium version. I update almost daily, if not every other day. (I try to anyway). The problem is, there are so many BULLS*%#~t robo calls from my car’s warranty is about to expire to health insurance salesmen or women, and on and on. Aaaagggghhh!!!!! I don’t think Hiya can keep up with all of it. I am still on the fence whether I will renew my subscription or not. Does the premium package help? (Maybe, is it a waste of your money?) If you have extra money to spend, go for it. If you don’t have extra money to spend, save it you will be ok. Thank You for your time, I hope this helps.
  • Doesn’t work

3 days into my free trial and I’ve seen no reduction in the amount of spam & robocalls that I’ve been receiving. I will not be continuing my subscription after the trial period. Also seemingly no options for text filtering/protection and I’ve been receiving an equal amount of those lately.
  • Excellent when it is enabled

This does a great job of blocking calls. My biggest frustration is that it will not auto start in protection mode, even for the premium version. Therefore, it may stop protecting in the middle of the day and you start getting car warranty calls. Then you have to go in and hit the protect button AGAIN.
